PRIVACY POLICY

Beta draft — have a licensed attorney review before App Store submission.

1. What we collect

Account data: your name, username, email and password (stored only as a secure hash). Profile data: bio, avatar, showcase posts, privacy and messaging settings you choose. Content: photos, videos, comments and messages you post or send. Payment data: card and bank details are collected and stored by our third-party payment provider — VAULT never stores your full card number. Usage data: device type, app interactions, votes and challenge activity used to operate the service.

2. How we use it

We use your data to run the service: create and secure your account, host challenges and entries, process escrow and payouts through our payment provider, deliver notifications you enable, show your public profile and content to other users according to your privacy settings, detect fraud and vote manipulation, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal data.

3. What other users can see

Your username, profile and public showcase posts are visible to other users. Challenge entries are visible to the community for voting. Earnings can be hidden with the “Hide my earnings” privacy toggle. Messages are visible only to the people in the thread, subject to lawful disclosure obligations.

4. Sharing with service providers

We share data only with the providers needed to operate VAULT: cloud hosting and database, file storage for photos and videos, email delivery, payment processing and identity/tax verification for payouts, and analytics. Each provider is bound to process data only on our instructions. We may also disclose data where required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users and the public.

5. Your choices

In Settings you can edit your profile, control notification categories, toggle privacy options (private account, hide earnings, public messaging), and block other users. You may delete your account at any time; deletion removes your profile and content from public view, subject to the retention rules below.

6. Retention

We keep account and content data while your account is active. After deletion, we retain only what is required for payment records, tax compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution and legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized. Escrow and payout records are retained for the period required by financial regulations.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, row-level access controls so accounts can only reach their own data, and restricted administrative access. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you as required by law.

8. Children

VAULT is not directed at anyone under 18 (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn a minor has created an account, we will delete it.

9. International users

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. By using VAULT you consent to that transfer, and we apply the safeguards described in this policy wherever the data is processed.

10. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in Settings, or by contacting us through the Contact form.

11. Changes & contact

We may update this policy and will note the effective date in the app. Material changes will be flagged before they take effect. Privacy questions can be sent through the Contact form.

Using VAULT means you accept this policy together with the Terms of Service.
